Jaswinder has over 18 years of experience and has committed to achieve the best results for her clients, representing self-insured employers, insurance carriers, third party administrators and public entities. She works closely with claims examiners, claims supervisors, claims managers, employers, brokers, and risk management, teaming up to strategize on file handling and providing training by way of seminars and webinars.
Jaswinder handles all aspects of the litigation process including initial claim assessments, applicant depositions, cross-examinations of doctors, negotiation of early settlement, quick resolution of transferred or substituted files, preparation of witnesses for trial, attendance at hearings or arbitration, conducting file reviews and presenting evidence at trials, proceeding through the appeals process. She has had success with early resolution of complex claims, including MSA and structured settlements, trials, appeals, and obtaining Orders to dismiss claims and quash subpoenas.
Before joining the firm, Jaswinder was an Associate Attorney at Manning & Marder, Ellrod, Kass, Ramirez LLP in Los Angeles also practicing workers’ compensation defense. She is a member of the State Bar of California and earned her Juris Doctorate from the University of La Verne College of Law.
Before and while attending law school, she worked full-time in the insurance industry for a fortune 500 company. As a disability claims manager in the long-term and short-term disability unit. Interaction with doctors and nurses was required to assist claimants with return to work. Interacting with attorneys was also required in offsetting workers’ compensation benefits and/or social security benefits, or during the appeals process.
Jaswinder is a graduate of California State University Northridge with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. She was the political science president and concurrently worked for her local school district during college. During her summer vacations she worked part-time in retail and earned life insurance and manicuring licenses. She also volunteered a semester by assisting at Malibu’s Camp Kilpatrick juvenile detention facility where she assisted with youth offender rehabilitation.
